About ARF Resources

If you haven't found the exact new pet you are looking for, don't forget other animal rescue and shelter organizations both near and far.  ARF of Bartlesville keeps a list of our own rescue contacts, so give us a call at 918-766-0991.

Maybe you don't know what type of dog or cat your lifestyle requires yet.  Get the information you need before making a decision you will commit to.  Do your homework!  Research different breeds to figure out which best fits your lifestyle!  And remember, spaying and neutering pets is the only solution to the pet overpopulation.

Feral Dogs and Shy Dogs:  How to Help Them

Help for dogs escaping their yards!

Dogs escaping their yards is an age-old problem that can have disasterous consequences.  Below are some fence modifying solutions that can help.

1.  Check out this website for answer to dogs that dig out of yards.  (Tulsa SPCA has Dig DeFence installed in their outside yards.)

http://www.digdefence.com/

2. For climbing dogs - here is a link to an article that can help.

 http://www.dogsdeservebetter.com/clova.html

3. Also, if you are not familiar with Coyote Rollers, a commercial product that can be installed on fences to keep what you want, in and what you don't want, out, go to Google or Goodsearch and type in Coyote Rollers.  A whole page of links will pop up - telling you about the commercial product, Coyote Rollers, and also homemade versions of it.

4.  Finally, some people have had success retraining jumping dogs with a jump harness.  Jump harnesses are available from some pet supply catelogs.  Again, go to Google or Goodsearch and type in "Jump harness for dogs" and you will get the information and links to catalogs that sell them.
